i live in ca. i'll try this again. 3 years ago my brother helped me and my two kids buy a house. he signed for the loan. i put down all the money.
1. i have paid all the piti, assoc. dues, etc myself.
2. i was told by him afterwards, he would pay for nothing.
3. he also made me pay for 1/2 his income taxes.
4. i have spent 23K in upgrades to date.
5. now, he wants to "sell me" the house at "market value"-180k. we pd.-125K. he'll give me credit for 1/2 of upgrades off purchase price.
6. he is charging me 1/2 the sellers fees, plus my buyers fees.
7. there is a lawsuit on house settleing in sept.(12k) he will decide what gets fixed, and give 1/2 of total amt. for repairs.
question: is there anything i can do here legally? i have all reciepts for mortg payments, upgrades, etc. all I want is to streamline or get new loan. what he is proposing is rediculous!

WHAT?

would you please mind telling me how you think that what he is proposing is a fair deal? the fact that he is going to charge his own sister 55K for this house when he has put absolutely nothing into it and said he wanted nothing to do with it. however, now that i have put 23k into the house and made it nice and made it what it is worth, he wants to take the credit? you think it is fair that he charges me 1/2 the seller fees along with buyers fees? i asked you if there was anything i can do legally if i have to?
