I recently purchased a used car in Iowa which had an extended Dealer warranty. I have just now had the car for a month and once a week I take it in to the shop because the check engine light is coming on. The first time they told me the gas cap was not on tight enough, that it was sensing a fuel leak. The light went off for about a week and then it came on again. Then I was informed when I took it back that because I left the key in the ignition but the car off when I pumped gas that it sensed the car was running and came on. The third time it came on they changed the air filter and said the engine was not getting the oxygen it needed. Now the light has come on once again and I am going to tak it once again and see what the problem is. But I am wondering if this could be classified as a lemon?

The federal lemon law applies only to new cars or vehicles sold as used but never previously registered. This would be cars like demos and loaner cars. The Iowa lemon law is the same as the federal law.
