What is the name of your state? South Carolina

EDIT...(smile)...there is nothing to edit....just read it!

Hello...

One of my creditors sent me a bill for 177.84. I paid it off because it was the final balance. I sent them a check and put "final payment" along with the bill they sent me. Well, I got an email from one of the employees saying they received the 177.00 but I still owed them 8.35. I haven't received another bill from them. I emailed him back and asked "why do I still owe money when I sent in the bill with the final balance and paid it". The bill didn't say 186.19....it was 177.84.

Can they do this? Also, I asked them for a copy of my account history and they said I needed to send them 25.00. Is that legal?????????

Please, please advise...

My response:

I didn't read your post. I couldn't get past all those exclamation marks and question marks.

Did you pay the 177.84 before the due date ?? If not, they added interest. To be quite frank, the easiest way to get rid of this is to pay the $8.35 - its chickenfeed and not worth the hassle you'll get. Just make sure you find out exactly when the amount is due and pay it at least 10 days before that date.
