Texas. I am 17 years old and I havent lived with my mother for a year. My dad lives in another town and recieves SSI checks since I am his child I recieve them too. I currently live with my aunt and my mom doesnt help at all. Since my mom is considered my legal parent/guardian she recieves the checks for me. I looked up some information and found out I can move out soon. I have a job so I can take care of myself. I was wondering if there was a way that I could recieve the checks myself or is there another way around this problem?

Nope. Once you emancipate those checks will stop. You are considered an adult and able to support yourself without any help from anybody else. Those are DEPENDENT BENEFITS based on Dad's SSDI benefits (not SSI).
