What is the name of your state?AZ
I sent the letter to the collection agency asking them to identify the debt, today October 19, 2004 they called my office, I told them that I sent them a letter on October 12 return receipt requested, they stated that they never received my letter, they were not rude nor threatening, they said they would wait for my letter. I contacted the post office and tracked my letter, the post office stated that the letter was signed for and delivered on the 18th of October. Are they in violation???
just a reminder...this was from a CA in regards to my ex husbands truck that was reposessed in 1997///He declared bankruptcy last year and I am now getting CA's contacting me for payment. I got one last July, sent them the letter you suggested and they never replied, they sold it to this LHR collection agency whom is now contacting me. We are divorced seven years, last year was the first time anyone contacted me about this debt.

No. It would be EXTREMELY uncommon for your letter to have been processed and applied to your account within one day of its receipt.

I agree with Bigun, the SOL has expired for a repo in 1997 ! Send them a cease and desist letter telling them to go get bent, the debt is time-barred.
