i was married to an Iranian in las vegas 9 years ago. after residing in iran for 8 years, we have separated and i have been living back in the states for the last 6 months. i want to file for divorce, we have no children, and i do not want any of the property or possessions, and do not believe he will contest the divorce. can you please advise the best way to file, hopefully without the need and expense of a lawyer, if he is living overseas and approximately how long it might take and what procedures i must follow? thank you in advance.

Your questions are way to board for a forum of this nature. I suggest you call a few local attorneys for a free consultation. You might be surprised at how cheap some of them will do this since it is likely to be uncontested.

Otherwise, buy a book.
