What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? North Carolina
My parents did not have a Will. My sister took out a loan in 2006 to pay for our father's funeral and pre-pay for our mother's. Mother passed in 2011. I obtained my CNA, so I could care for my mother and have an income. I had to sell my home during this time to provide 24/7 care for her. Since she passed, my sister is demanding the money from the loan be paid to her in full. My other siblings say they can not afford to pay their share and give up rights to their share of the estate. I have no where to live, but there, which has been my home since 2007. I want to pay my sister for the loan and keep our parents home place, but I would have to make payments, just as she did. I have been told that if she doesn't agree to this, I can sue all of my siblings for the time I invested in caring for her. (The amount, less the 40 hours/week I got paid) I love my siblings, but they don't care about what I did for our mother or the fact that I will be on the street. What rights do I have?
