What is the name of your state? New York
I started a new job in July of 2016 in the public schools system in New York. I am currently in my third school year since started. Originally when hired during my interview and the other 5 people that were hired for the same position were promised full time employment after 6 months. which consists of full Department of Education benefits ( its been 3 school years and no movement on our full time employment status). Fast forward to last year when letters were written to the director about our employment status and since we are contracted as "consultants" we are only able to make $50,000 in a calendar year. Every year we all go over this around December and have to fight to get paid. Finally after writing letters to the director they approved 6 positions for the athletic trainers. After these positions were approved we were told that come July the job will be posted and to apply for it as soon as it is posted. Long and behold the job was never posted and now the date of posting was moved to the "fall" not even a specific date just the fall. Now were in winter and no job has been posted. They are claiming now that "funds" have to be transferred over from another department and now the person who approved our positions no longer is in that position and now has to start all over again apparently. Now once again we reach our salary cap and some of us haven't been paid in upwards of 8 weeks. They have known about this for 8 weeks and we are just getting the run around with everything. Nothing but lies have come out of these peoples mouths since before we were hired. I am just wondering if there is anyway that a lawsuit of being hired under false pretenses can be made?
