What course of action do I have if my automobile has been hit (the car was parked on the street, no one was in it) by an uninsured motorist. The motorist was issued a reckless driving ticket. The 19 year old driver provided proof of insurance at the scene of the accident but it was later discovered that the insurance did not cover the vehicle he was driving. I only had liability insurance. My out-of-pocket costs exceed $2000. Do I have any recourse? The other driver will not return any phone calls.

If your insurance does not cover the damage and if the other driver does not have insurance then the other driver may be personally liable for the damages. The practical problem often though is whether the driver is collectible. It ould be wise to consult with an attorney on this. If they not help, then the option may be small claims court. Good luck!
