engineer66, the reason the insurance company wants to see your medical records is not because they want to snoop but rather they want to determine if you have any underlying conditions that could affect your medical treatment and recovery in ways that they would not/could not be held responsible.

Although I understand you do not believe your injury was serious enough to warrant attention from a personal injury lawyer, I still recommend you make appointments with a couple of attorneys for a personal review. The initial consultations are (generally) free.
