We have a self appointed President who has knowingly ignored, and in fact refuses to read the governing documents and is running the HOA & it's board in a dictorial style. There is no maintenance and repairs unless it is to her building. That was the first thing she did when she became president of the HOA Board. No other repairs have been done except when I called a repair person out to repair mulitple sink holes on the common property after a resident fell into it. We had been talking about the sink holes for more than a year and nothing was being done.

She ordered power washing on all of the buildings after someone began a law suit against the HOA for not maintaining the buildings. I told her that my son advised against our building being washed because the siding was already rotting and power washing would make is substantially worse. She had it done anyway and not only did the rotting accelerate, but it is now falling off of the building and the joists are rotting out as well. I personally have had flooding occur within my home on six different occassions and the man who I asked to come out to give a quote on our building said it's going to cost almost $30,000 to fix our building alone. Most of this damage is a direct result of her ignoring my warning. My warning was valid and came from a very reliable source; my son owned his own power washing business at that time and had also lived in my home and was well aware of the condition of the siding.

She always ignores what anyone has to say and does mostly nothing. There has been more deterioration than any other time with any other board because she has failed to use Due Care in her position of authority with the board. She has, with the exception of me, placed members on the board that she feels will not oppose her. I'm the only board member who was elected by the members and therefore the only legitimate Director on the board. She knows this and rejects everything that I say and do to try to keep us on track to take care of the property and the members needs. She also refuses to let anyone see the records and has discussed destroying them. At one point she had them removed from our registered office to an off site management company in another town to make sure they were hidden from members. She has threatened to have member arrested if they come to the board meetings. We are in big trouble and I'm having a hard time finding an attorney who will bring suit against this woman. All the attorneys in the area usually represent the HOA boards and don't seem to be interested in protecting the members/property owners.

One dissatisfied homeowner against the HOA and Board of Directors is a losing battle that will virtually get you nowhere. Your "power" will be in the "numbers"---- ascertain and unite with other dissatisfied HOA members, and together with your governing documents, pursue a legal remedy against the Homeowner' Association.

**A: I read the first 6 words only. I do not think that is true.
