What is the name of your state? missouri

My sons father is not active. His parents and grandparents are holiday grandparents. They called and wanted my son for x-mas eve. Which is difficult because the family who does see him year round wanted to spend time with him and of course we had church. I did offer them sometime after christmas all they had to do was call and set up a time.

My question is what has to take place for grandparents to take the mother to court for grandparents rights. What exactly do judges grant as grandparent rights? Is it like weekends or overnights.

I don't think this would ever happen but I am curious. I don't deny them visits. I just don't call them. I would prefer it not be on christmas either. Any other time no problem. I don't think it's selfish they only make half an effort on x-mas and b-day.

If the only time they make any effort to see the child is at Christmas and on the child's birthday, then it would be difficult for them to win a grandparent visitation suit. In fact, those suits are difficult in general for grandparents to win.

However, when they do win they generally receive something along the lines of one visit a month (sometimes an overnight, sometimes not) and time around the holidays....but generally not the actual holiday itself. Naturally, there are exceptions to that...but that's tends to be the average.
