My husband and I are attempting to install central air conditioning in our house and have been told we need to get the approval of the home owners association. I am wondering what if any legal authority they have to stop us from doinwhat we want as long as it does not violate the Deed and Agreement? We have been told we also need neighbors to approve. Please help. I live in Maryland.

You need to review your homeowners' association rules to see what the procedure is to get your air conditioning installed. It should be set forth in the rules exactly what the steps are you need to take. If it is not, then you should bring your improvement to the board so it can be discussed and approved at their next meeting.
