in new york city is it legal for a real estate company to require a home visit to investigate your prior living situation?

I never heard that one before.....

Whats the name of the company....let me call them and find out what their legal reasons are.

are you black? or disabled or any reasons you think they need to check you out....like you are renting in a no pet building?

They can always call your landlord but a home visit....?
