What is the name of your state? North Carolina
We have been denied insurance from every insurer in the state as our home in NC is not our primary residence. Insurance companies will only insure us in NC if they can also insure our primary residence which is in Florida. There are no insurers writing new policies in Florida. Our insurer in Florida, Liberty Mutual, initially insured us but has now cancelled us for reasons they have yet to make clear. I can't believe we have no recourse. Any assistance is much appreciated.

Questions

You're in an uphill battle. As you have discovered, the majority of insurance companies will not insure a secondary home without insuring the primary and a lot of carriers have withdrawn from the coastal states.

1. Is this a newly acquired home or did you already owned it?
2. Is there a mortgage on the property?
3. Have you checked with a broker?

If NC has an insurance pool, it may be only for primary residences. Someone else will have to provide that information.
