What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Oregon

Our house burned. We submitted paperwork and receipts and received

quite a bit of money from the insurance company. The two year limit was coming up and they sent a letter asking us to submit any receipts that we had left because they wanted to close this file. We did that and now they are accusing us of faking receipts. They have talked to several stores where we bought items and there does seem to be discrepencies. Unfortunatly, because we work away from home (we're truck drivers) I had someone help me with many of these receipts and I now think that she did alter at least some of them. She has left town and I don't have any idea where to look for her. I don't know what to do now.
Thanks for any help you can give me.What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

Not to be funny, but you're saying you lied, and you're asking for help how to undo the lie without getting in trouble? Is that what you're looking for?

Help with homewoners claim

No, what I'm saying is that I was stupid and didn't check the receipts before they were mailed. We also gave her money to purchase some of the items that we wanted. The things were purchased, we have them, but it looks like some of the receipts have been changed. I don't know why she would do this, because I don't see any advantage for her until the last two things were bought with money we gave her. We have the two things, but we don't know what she really paid for them because the receipts seem to be total fakes. Can we say stupid us?? I did give her name to the insurance company hoping that they can find her. Don't know what else to do.
Thanks for the reply.
