I filed a claim for replacement of my roof. My roof is asbestos shingled and I thought I was going to have to pay for abatement, after checking with the department of health I do not. The insurance paid enough in the claim for abatement, and a new roof. If all of this money is not used, am I legally obligated to return the money to the insurance company?????

Generally not, unless there was fraud in the application for a claim, or the papers you signed obligated you to do so. The key issue is whether the mortgage company is entitled to have you make all the repairs you were paid for.
