I have been informed by my insurance company that payroll deduction was not taken to pay my homeowners premium in 2004 and 2005. I did not notice because it was mixed in with my auto insurance deduction. Am I obliged to pay a premium for a past year? There were no claims in either 2004 or 2005.

Do you have a mortgage or other home loan? If they did not receive annual proof of insurance from your homeowner's insurance company, I would think they would charge you for insurance to protect themselves. But maybe the insurance company neglected to tell them that they had discontinued coverage. Have your loan payments or escrow changed any in the past couple of years?

This is the first I ever heard of payroll deduction for home or auto insurance.

I have payroll deduction for Auto and Homeowners. For whatever reason the Homowners premium was not deducted since 2004. During that time I have gotten a home equity line which required an insurance binder which the company provided. My question is, am I liable to pay for 2004 if they did not execute the deduction as I had authorized? I still have no received a cancellation notice.
