What is the name of your state? Vermont. I was sexually harassed on the job. And yes it has already been proven. I was let go because I was ill too much due to the stress the harassment caused. What I am confused with is this. My attorney says we are not suing for the sexual harassment, we are suing for wrongful termination. I dont understand why he is not suing for both. Faith

And when you asked your attorney to explain this he said???

Only your attorney can explain what his legal strategy is.

when I asked he explained it this way....Though there is a hostile environment at your work your case is not a "hostile environment" case. This is because the basis for your claim is that you were terminated. The termination is the forth criteria needed to support your claim, that you suffered a detrimental action as a result of your complaint. In this case, it is a combination of your health as it directly relates to the hostile environment".
I was confronted by the harasser and yelled at by the men about how "they didnt like what I was doing!. Noone would talk to me or they would stare at me with angry angry looks. My lead was the harasser's best friend, and he yelled at me all night. I went to the manager and told him they had to do something, anything, move me or I quit. Plus how in the world did they find out?? They did move me, but still forced me at times to work in the same area which was extremely stressful. I was told I had to "suck it up". The harassment was based upon pornographic materials emailed to me, grotesque pictures of beheadings, and sending me constantly offensive emails and jokes. I though my case would be on the harassment and the hostile environment as well as terminating me. Thanks Faith

Faith, I'm not going to try and second guess your attorney's strategy. He or she is in a far better position to decide what that should be than anyone here.
