hello, i work in bothell washington for an unamed world-wide corporation. my problem exists in that i believe that i am working in a very hostile work environment, but i do not know what, if anything, that i can do.

my employment with the company started a little over one year ago, and starting on the third day i was litteraly being screamed at by my colleage. his actions have continued to the day. i have raised complaints with both my manager, on six occasions, and human resources on one occasion, but the treatment has not stopped. i feel that i am being ignored.

this individual will not allow me to perform my duties, which results in managment telling me that i need to do better. i just hate irony.

also, there are some other interesting issues that have become apparent that has resulted in even more harasment from managment. currently, my two superiors are under possible investigation for unethical and immoral business pratices concerning software licenses and misleading their clients (down-right lying) about the current status on technical issues in the clients database infrastructure.

i have been asked to keep my mouth shut concerning these issues and all others by my manager, his extact words were "i do not want you to repeat what i say, because i don't always know what i say". i informed another colleage of this, she went to human resources and confronted my manager (who is also hers) and the rep from hr. my manager completely denied that he had said the above statement and hr informed my colleage that they do not believe her. She requested that an investigation be started to find out who is really lying and was informed that no investigation will be performed. currently, the same colleage has been reprimanded for telling the truth and is now on a "contract" that requires expectations from her that is not expected by anyone else. hr and managment have 'officially' considered her to be incompetant. i fear that i am next.

what can i do? is this a hostile work environment even when no sexual discrimination is present?
