What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Louisiana
Hi
I have a son incarcerated with Louisiana DOC for Simple Burglary on May 18, 2009. and was sentenced to 6 years with DOC, with 4 years suspended and three years suspervised probation. He has a release date of April 24, 2010, PED - May 22, 2010, FTD - May 22, 2011and is Parole Elig, GT ACT 572, 35/30, No detainers, class 2 offender. His sentence start date was May 25, 2009. He's on good behavior with no write-ups, he is housed at a private facility in Louisiana.

I was told that he has to serve 12 months. Someone else said he has to serve 85%.
I really don't understand any of this.

When is good time calculated and how much of the 12 months will he have to serve? Does anyone no at what point in time should the parole board be contact for early parole hearing.

Effective August 15, 2009, Louisiana has a new House Bill No. 225, ACT No. 159 (Home Incarceration). Can anyone tell me if DOC inmates will be affected by this new law and will it call for inmate early release and will DOC automatically consider inmates for home incarceration or does it only pretain to new inmates entering the system after August 15, 2009?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.:confused:
