What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? I live in Michigan, but the company I purchased from is located in Chicago, IL

I purchased my wedding dress via the House of Brides website (www.houseofbrides.com). I am having some issues with them, but my primary question right now regards receipts. When I called them and asked if I could have a receipt for my credit card payment, they told me that they "don't give receipts." Is that legal? Doesn't a seller have to supply a receipt on request?

I just want this information so that I can call them back ASAP and inform them that I talked to a lawyer who said that A seller must supply a receipt upon purchase, if this is the case. If this is not the case, then I would like to know that as well.

Thank you!

Call you credit card company and ask them what their requirements are for people who accept their card. I'm not familiar with credit card laws in IL, but in general, yes, a retailer must provide you with a dated receipt.
