How can I find Info about a filed law suit?

My grandparents are being sued for a large amount of money in a ridiculous sounding law suit. How can I find out the terms/ information about this suit? Aren't all filed lawsuits public record?

Aloha, You can access info to the suit by going to your court , be it circuit or whatever, and take the case number with you as well as the parties involved names In hawaii i have also gotten a lot of help from the clerks at the court house...
