how can i find out when a will was probated?++ more??

What is the name of your state? al, but this is concerning a will probated in new jersey

my mother passed on may 1 of this year, in new jersey, how can i find out when the will was probated and how long before i should be notified? i understand it can be up to 60 days but not quite sure.
also, they (siblings) have my address but may state they don't, since they took most of her estate before passing.

do i need to hire an atty in the county where the will was probated in n.j., and also one here in alabama?

Call the Probate Court in the county where mom died. If probate has been opened they will have a file and, for a fee, will copy it for you.

thanks so much for the info. i called and will get a copy hopefully by the end of next week. then i will hopefully know how to proceed...i know i'll have to find an atty in that area of n.j. since i'm on the gulf coast...
