What is the name of your state? Ohio Please help me!!!! I need to move to a nicer apartment, where I live, there are bad people, guns theft, etc. I have no rental history of my own, no credit history, ex husband caused bad debts 7 years ago. I have enough money each month from my social security check to rent $1,015.00 and I found nice apartments but I cant pass credit checks, what can I do. I cant rent friend private individuals, because I need a apartment with heat and water included, all maintainance, I cant buy a washer, refrigerater, stove, etc, cannot do yard work,et, I am 61 and in poor health and I rent an aparment now, just need a nicer area.
How do you get around a credit check?

You may be entitled to a free credit report that will tell you what your current standing is. Go to http://www.equifax.com, http://www.transunion.com or http://www.experian.com.

Are you positive the new apartments will be better than where you live now? If so, why? Do you know for sure there won't be any crime there? Is the rent going to be low enough so that you can pay a rent increase when it comes along?

Frankly, I wouldn't live in an apartment building that didn't require credit checks because it would suggest to me that they probably didn't do background checks either.

Maybe its time for you to go to all your family members and get them to assist you by paying first, last and if there is no law against it maybe the last 2 or 3 months rent in advance . Then atleast a LL can see that you do indeed have a financial stake in staying around.
