What is the name of your state? Illinois, Cook County

When you are in probate, how do you know when a creditor files a claim against the estate? Will I receive a letter in the mail since I am the executor of the estate, or will my attorney receive a letter. I understand that they have 6 months to file a claim and if they don’t, then they may lose claim to any money in the estate. Here is my question, I have received bills addressed to my Mother who is deceased now. However, these bills were not addressed to the estate. Is it my responsibility to tell the creditors to now bill the estate? What if I don’t? Does it even matter? Will they eventually figure it out and will I then be held responsible? Please help.

If you are the Executor it is your RESPONSIBILITY to pay the debts of the deceased from the estate funds. To not pay them so you can have more money is fraudulent!
