lol...Yes. I know what the Trooper stated. I want to know what YOU say your speed was at that time. ;)

Visual speed estimations can certainly be made using mirrors, or maybe the Trooper turned his head. Maybe the estimation was done as you passed the Trooper's car, so he didn't need mirrors, and he didn't get you on radar until you passed him.

I can say less than 80..by the way..the distance between Painted Point, NY and ABE area, PA is 200 miles, or 3 hours 10 minutes..I am covered it for 4 hours...so the average speed is about 50 miles...and if you know that part of Blue route in PA are in 70 mph limits.. That is for the same guy who said he did not believe me..

I had a very terrible accident 4 years ago..in two blocks from my home I got into black ice. I realized that when it was too late. My car was turned at 180 degree opposite way and I hit the tree with my left front door. The front of my car got into road sign and it felt into my front windshield window and cracked it. So I was able to return home and get out thought passenger door. The car was totaled but I got just slight pain in my left shoulder. I applied ice for few hours and pain goes away. But stress was followed me for few years. I had appointment with shrink and female PhD told me that over the time I will get better. So I am not speeder at all..

I do not believe that is accurate using rear mirrors or turning his head..it may be more accurate if he is out of his car watching..but I saw he was inside..

and you stated "as you passed the Trooper's car" how many times you see when cars passing trooper car they are speeding? I do not think so.

Quite frankly, it doesn't matter what you believe.

You have no training and no experience doing speed enforcement or visual estimations of speed. Your belief doesn't count for anything and you have absolutely no legitimate basis for your belief.

I see it every day. Because drivers are oblivious. That's hardly an excuse.

Why don't you go to court and insist on a trial? Then you can raise these issues in front of a judge.

I can just about guarantee that you will lose.

I have experience going to court (by myself) few times in my state..no points paid just a fee .But that case is different because it is in another state.. I would like to hear what I can do. I am very appreciate for your suggestions as guy with vast of law enforcement experience. I am weighting possibility to hire an attorney.

Be my guest.

I have appeared at least a dozen different Town and Village Justice Courts in New York and from my experience an attorney will get you no better a deal then you could get on your own. It will save you an appearance though.

In addition to whatever fine you have to pay, you will probably have to pay an attorney somewhere between $200 and $400.

you are in NY state and I am not, I need to have 6+ hours for overall drive. Plus I have a very terrible back pain..that is very hard to get in and out of my car and stay. I do not have straight prof of my innocence..I thought to plea NO GUILTY and attorney will take care of it.. I already contacted with him

I'm assuming you were on 17. No one drives 65 or less on that stretch absent roadwork. Sorry. My youngest lives up that way, and I've driven the route you're speaking of many a time.

Yes I drove 17 east on my way back to Pennsylvania. Somewhere in Owego area. There was not road work over there..I remember my old friend back in 90-s told me about cop aggressiveness on Rte17 in Elmira area..

Yep, the cops are all over there.

BTW - it's CNY, not upstate. ;) Upstate is north of Syracuse.
