What is the name of your state? Indiana

My ex-husband was given custody of our daughter.Since then, I have obtained a court order granting me FULL, SOLE CUSTODY of the child, with supervised visitation for the ex along with $500 a month in child support. I also got a warrant for custody of the child. However, he has gone to California. He does not live there, but here in Indiana.

Can I go to the local police or the county sheriff where he lives and obtain their assistance in getting the child back? or is there some other procedure?

If you have a Court Order which states you have Sole Physical/Legal Custody of your child and he is to only have Supervised Visitation...then you need to contact IN authorities re; Parental Kidnapping. CA authorities will cooperate- strongly- with any IN Law Enforcement Requests.

Was your ex-husband represented in court? And, did he go to CA before or after the court date?

Why was this drastic change of custody done? What was the reasoning of the court and was Dad present at the proceedings?

Moburkes,

Yes, he was represented in court, during the first court date and he went after the original court date. And FYI, when questions were asked, I was reading other boards. Is there some sort of problem with how slow I answered questions??

Nextwife,

He was properly served. Had to do a certified mail, return receipt and he signed for it. So he was served properly.

Baystategirl,

Several issues with certain individuals in his householdhave come up and I did what was right. And he was not at the most recent court proceeding.

So he didn't show to contest the change in custody. What were the issues?

Start with the police dept. of the city where he is located.

You will need to have the signed order with you.

Next stop, Mexico.
