My father came here as a visitor and we took visitor insurance from a reputed American company. My father had a heart attack and was treated by two hospitals and by about 8 doctors in total.

The bills ran up to 100,000. The insurance company refuses to pay, since it is a pre-existing condition. One doctor is threatening to go to INS and let them take criminal action on me, if I dont pay his bills, about $10,000.

Who is liable for the bills? My father has gone back to China now, but am I liable to pay the 100,000 to the hospitals and doctors? What are my options? Will this lead to my bankruptcy?
