How do i file for divorce

I was married in Las Vegas last year, I am a UK resident, do i have to file for divorce in Vegas or can i do it from the UK

As long as you've complied with the residency / jurisdiction laws of the United Kingdom, you can file for divorce (Dissolution) from there.

They would'nt let me register the marriage here in the UK because it was registered in another country? do you have any ideas what this would mean?
