Felonies work against getting a job. Just go for a business selling a good and/or a service. Or you could move into another country where they dont look at U.S. criminal records. Then you can get a job if its a place speaking the same language. See requirements for citizenship if the felony is devastating you here in the U.S.

You'll find that most countries will not issue you a visa to work/live there if you are a known felon from another country.

If you had enough money in Illinois, not only might you have been able to buy a full pardon from the governor, but he might have also appointed you to the vacant senate seat. As long as you avoided any phone conversations of course:D
