What is the name of your state? CA

A week after the father of my baby asked me to marry him, he cheated on me. We have now been broken up for about 4 months. All in all we are amiable, but I still want full custody and need child support. I CANNOT afford a lawyer. How do I do this??What is the name of your state?

You can do this pro se (yourself), but expect to study VERY hard on the rules of procedure.

The paperwork you will need is at your county court house.

BTW: You will most likely be granted 50/50 custody with you being primary residence and Joint Legal.

Do NOT pull the breast feeding excuse to try and limit Dads ability to bond and visit with his child.;)

thanks

I would never take her away from her father. Just because WE did not work out does not mean he is not a good father. However, WE do not work out. I just want my ducks in a row in case...
So county court office, here I come! Thanks!

but I still want full custody
Perhaps we got that Idea because your first post stated you wanted FULL custody.

Dad has the right to want to co-parent HIS child, regardless of whether you and he got it to work between you. Expect joint custody. Nothing you wrote about him warrants a judgment that does not also have dad sharing at least legal, if not physical custody.

I am beginning to think that some people think that full custody means primary custody...which is of course wrong.

Well, if they want to KNOW what to ask for, wouldn't the same search on Google be just as easy, so that if one is asking a legal board if they are likely to be awarded something, they KNOW what that something they say they want actually IS?
