What is the name of your state? Indiana
My neighbors have started what we believe is harassing us over our dogs and practices in caring for our yard. Problems started in December when we were informed that they would be pressing charges against us if we didn't cut the grass and take our trash off the property. Now all trash was in the back of our truck, and is only paper, no food or used TP, so they had no grounds on this. Then in January the neighbor claimed that 2 of my dogs attacked her male Dobe. This story has changed three times and the dogs involved have changed. I offered to reimburse her for vet bills if she would bring me reciepts. She refused and wanted me to just give her what she said was owed. i have since chnaged my practices with my animals and none go outside off leash even though I have six acres and they were never out alone before. Then her son came over with pictures that he came on OUR property to take of the trash and stuff claiming he was sending it to the health department and a lawyer. He was told to leave the property and that if he didn't leave us alone we would file charges. Everytime they come over (4 times total) they are extremely loud and curse and threaten to sue over every little thing. Last Tuesday my hound and I were walking near the fence between our property when he dog reached through the fence and attacked my dog. I took her to the vet and presented the neighbor with the bill. They've refused to pay and yesterday called the police claiming that my dogs have been getting into their trash. This was a false report and the officer even agreed that it was just a neighbor fued and that there was nothing he could do. Should we call and file harassment charges against them? We've already cut off all contact with them and were hoping that would end things. But I would hate for them to continue to file false charges against me and my animals and we have to pay fines and/or put or animals down.
Thanks
