Oregon. I purchased 2 sets of knives from a seller in Calif. I sent a USPS MO for over $720 for the 2 sets of knives. I recieved 2 sets of knives , but they were not the ones in the photos I was sent by the seller. They were 2 sets that are not worth $100 let alone over $720! The seller was very prompt at emailing me prior to buying the knives , but since I have recieved these lesser knives , I cannot get any reply from the seller. I saved ALL the emails from the seller that shows the brand name and photos of the knives I agreed to purchase. The ones I received are not the same brand or the ones that were in the photos the seller showed me. How can I get my correct product or a refund? It looks like the seller is not going to respond since I have sent 5 emails without any replies. As I said the seller ALWAYS was very good in replying with answers and photos prior to USPS MO being sent to the seller , but now I cannot get any reply. I dont want these knives I recieved and want the real knives I paid for or my money returned. Whats the best way to get a reply or some action? THANK YOU !!! P.S. this also has happened with a fishing reel I purchased too. Is this a scam I was unaware of? Have you heard of anyone else paying for one thing and getting a totally different item than was originally purchased? Seems to me that if it was a scam that they would not send anything to me. PLEASE ADVISE WHAT I SHOULD DO! Thanks

You can contact local law enforcement in his area, but it's probably unlikely that you will get much satisfaction from that route. Probably your best bet is to file a small-claims action against him, you'll have to do it in his own countey, but hopefully since he's in CA and you are in OR, it's not too far for you to consider coming down for the trial.

In the future, pay for stuff on the internet by credit card, that way you can always get your credit card company to help via chargebacks and the like. Or buy locally.

What about filing a fraud claim with the post office, would that do any good? I read somewhere they take that seriously. Just a thought. If you look at the USPS fraud claim page it doesn't even have to be a usps money order, if they used the mail to do it with.
