HI Everyone -

New here and need help.

I have a PPO against my Mother for harassing behaviour, etc. etc. I had solid evidence of threats and the judge granted the order withot hearing and my Mother didn't contest it. The PPO will expire next week. I already filed a motion to have it extended an additional year and it was granted. My Mom is no telling others who are in turn telling me that she plans to sue me for libel because the letter to the judge in the inital PPO was all lies. It, of course, wasn't as I had evident to prove all her irratinal behaviors.

My question is - does she have a valid libel suit against me? If she does sue, what can I expect? The burden of proof is on her - so how can she even think to sue me when I have solid evidnece of everyrhing she had done.

Thanks for any help!

From what you have posted, it does not appear that your mother has any ability to sue you successfully for libel. I would guess her threats to bring suit are just another form of harassment. And, if she does decide to sue, your "truth" is an absolute defense against any libel action.
