What is the name of your state? Vermont. Lets say I will be going through mediation on a settlement from harassment(sexual), on the job. Now, the issue is they fired me, and the harasser is still employed. So, How does the amount of the settlement usually work? Lets say its a major major major corporation, not a small business operation, how is an amount really decided? Reason for asking is this......small private company is sued pays out 100,000 for damages...huge huge conglomerate company is sued pays out 100,000. It doesnt bother the big company, drop in the bucket. Just wondering how amounts are decided? Does the injured ask, or there is a guideline. Thanks Faith

There is no way we can answer this. Recommend you contact an attorney for advice in your particular situation before you attend the settlement conference.
