What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? IN
Custody was established approximately 1.5 hours away from where my child and I now live. He has been diagnosed with Oppositional Defiance Disorder, and is in counseling receiving treatment once a week. He is involved in many extra-curricular activities and receives tutoring here. In other words, he is very busy.
I currently pay tuition for my kids to go to school out of the district we currently live in. This means I have to drop them off and pick them up from school everyday.
When I have to go to court regarding my son, both my kids have to miss school (unless it is timed so I can get there and back while they are in school). There is no one here to pick up my older son (the one involved in the case). My younger son is autistic and would have none of it anyway.
I meant to say "change of venue."
Also, it is very likely that my son's counselors will have to be present in court to give their recommendations regarding visitation.
Should I seek a change of venue as to not interfere with my son's activities? Or should I just make the best of it?
