How long does it take to get served?

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Florida

My husband and I are mutually getting a divorce. He filed for divorce on July 13, 2012 and gave given me some copies of his papers after doing so. I had read that I am so supposed to be served officially by either a cop or by mail. Anyone know how long it takes? I already have all my papers ready to turn in, is it possible that I turn them in prior to being served or no?

Couple of weeks usually ... you can go and pick them up if you know where the process server is ... also, you have to wait until you are served AND the case is filed. If you have a case # then after service you are good to go.

Then expect to wait.
