How much can I say on the web without being in trouble?

Accident - Bankruptcy - Criminal Law / DUI - Business - Consumer - Employment - Family - Immigration - Real Estate - Tax - Traffic - Wills   Please click a topic or scroll down for more.

What is the name of your state? TX.

I have posted in another topic that I have an interior designer who has taken $6,000 from me 4 months ago which was supposed to be spent on interior work done to our house. I have been avoided and given excuses after excuses for these 4 months, still waitin on the work. I am to the point now where I am going to pursue legal action against her both civilly and criminaly if it can be done.

In the meantime I have a popular website, I have created a page on it which has her name as a headline. I have not put any information on this page yet.

Currently, when doing a search for this persons name in any major search engine, the page I created for her comes up #2 for her name, and #1 for her company name.

I created this as a leverage tool, which I was hoping I wouldn't have to use. but it looks like I may. I would not write anything which was not truthful and factual, but I'm wondering if there are anythings I can not say to avoid getting myself in trouble for libel??

I definately think anyone considering using this person in the future should know about our experience.

I appreciate your help

She may not successfully sue you, but she can still sue you.

To get from "She's going to sue me" to "She sued me and I won" you're going to have to go through a lot of crap that might not be worth it.

You are probably wiser to pursue legal action against her than opening yourself up to a defamation suit where she can seek action against you. Opinion is free speech but opinions that imply fact can bring a libel suit, and posting only the truth will help when you have to DEFEND a lawsuit for defamation, but it does not prevent a suit from being filed against you in the first place.
