What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? I live in Detroit, MI and got a parking ticket the other day. Here is what happened:
I've been parking on the same street all semester because there were no "no standing signs" as have other cars. 2 days ago I parked there again and when I got back from class there was a ticket on my car as well as about 30 cars parked on the same street that day. I thought that was weird, so I looked up and saw a sign about 75 feet away from my car.
Also, the 2 no standing signs were right by 2 drive ways (where I was obviously not parked in front of)
However, people had parking tickets on their cars who were parked way more than 100 feet from the closest sign as well. I think it's unfair that they just randomly put up the "no standing" signs with no warning whatsoever and they put them in misleading places too. I feel cheated and don't want to pay the $45 at all.
Should I admit responsibility with this explanation and say that I will not park there anymore or should I deny responsibility and try to fight it?
Thank you!
