I feel like I keep writing the same stuff, but here goes. Hubby and I married 17 months - I already gave him 10k last year (5k of savings and took out 5k loan) after he was 3 months behind on mortgage and car payment. I was expecting it back, but.....never happened - always some excuse. I am currently living payck to payck to pay the bills at my place but haven't submersed yet. We are in marriage counseling - I don't think we'll make it, but nothing has been filed yet.

We had our own places (still do) when married and we live in my place. His place is vacant and in need of serious TLC which he has procrastinated on. He was/is self-employed, but places he worked just unloaded him last month due to economy. He is not eligible for unemployment and refuses "home depot" type job (it's beneath him?!!!). His last mortgage payment was for 12/08. He's contemplating renting it to 1 of his kids at 65% of his mortgage/taxes (she can't afford more) just to get something coming in. He has to put quite a bit of $$ in it to get a CO if he were to rent it to someone else or sell it....claims he has zippo money.

I feel used financially (dah?). How soon would his house get foreclosed if he couldn't make any more payments.

Face it you are married to a deadbeat. Tell him to move into his own house while you are trying to sort this out. NOTHING is beneath a person who wants to provide for his family and he is showing you he doesn't give a darn.

Give him no more money for anything at this point. You will never get your 10K back he is so lazy he will not even work remember?

I suspect he will get foreclosure papers anytime now. His credit is shot and will be even worse if he faces foreclosure and this is the star you wish to hitch you future with. Get out while you can there is nothing here to salvage.
