What is the name of your state? Oregon

How do I answer back to my wife's divorce complaint in Tennessee while I am in Oregon without getting a lawyer (cannot afford and cannot get legal aid because wife is using legal aid)?

What I did was to mark those paragraphs that I disagreed and typed a professional letter on why I disagreed and mailed a copy of divorce papers and letter to the court and other copy to my wife's attorney? Am I right?
