What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? i live in Iowa, i had been friends prior to this with m y landlord. She bought a house and i moved in and rent from her.
before we moved in together she said of all these things i could do. And now she harasses me all the time. One of the things was that i could get a dog., well she got a dog, and now i told i wanted to get one and she said NO, the dog she has now, she lets it urinate and crap all over my stuff in my bedroom, she wont shut the door if the dog is out of its kennel, and says well then i am just going to let it do it. She send me harassing text messages at work telling me this crap. i signed a lease for 1 year and it will be up in May. long time yet, there are alot alot of other things she harasses me with. And what makes it worse is its not like a landloard living somewhere sepearate, she lives in the same house. And each day makes is difficult for me to even be there. Wh en i am there i have to go in my bedroom and shut my door to get the heck away from her. Its like i am paying all this money to her for being able to only be in my bedroom. I can not just use the rest of the home, like watch tv in living room etc. or anything because they make it difficult for me. and harass me.
please help i need to get out of my lease, how to do,
thanks

The old expression "friends and business don't mix" applies here. I doubt there is little you can do from a legal standpoint.

If the landlord's dog is doing damage, it's best that you not get one. Otherwise, you will be blamed for the damage.

Your best bet is to try and negotiate a deal that allows you to leave before the year is up.
