State is CA. I am going through a divorce after 16 years of marriage. My soon to be ex currently does not work and has only worked off/on part time jobs through out our marriage. I work full time and grossed 90,000 last year. I was wondering how much my monthy Alimony payments will be to her. I heard it is calculated by 1/2 the time we were married, so is my Alimony calculated by 8 yrs? Would like to know about how much a month I will be paying her, can anybody help?

Thanks, JeffWhat is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

I really think that you should consult an attorney on this one. You have a long term marriage and I do not think that you can afford to go this one on your own.

Believe it or not a worst case scenario could be that she gets 1/2 of your income...which is the main reason why its critical that you have an attorney.
