What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? NY
My parents live in NY and went to a timeshare presentation in Las Vegas without knowing what it is ahead of time and got pressured into signing a purchase on 12/1. They came back home a few days later and regretted after some research on the web.
The contract says the rescission period ends 5 calendar days after the contract day. However, 5 days after 12/1 is 12/6 which is a Saturday. My parents wrote the contract cancellation letter on 12/6 afternoon, but the post office was closed already, so they dropped 1 copy of the letter in post office mail box anyway. On Monday, 12/8, they will send another copy of the letter with confirmation/return-receipt.
Do these actions meet the requirement of cancellation?
