Hi,
My friend, an inventor, is looking for seed money to get his invention into production and to do some marketing. I found a potential investor and would like to know if I should ask for a finders fee from the inventor or from the investor (who has the cash) ?
Either way, how should I draft an agreement with the inventor or investor so that I get a Finders fee for locating investors. I heard that the customary fee is 15%; however, should I ask for 15% of all investments that my investor makes? Or should I ask for 15% of the first investment my investor makes? Where can I find a legal form I can download and have the inventor sign?
Thanks in advance.

These fees are entirely negotiable, and who pays and how much is strictly related to your negotiation skills. As far as a document, try Google, you might be able to find something online, or check with a local inventor's group to see if they have access to form contracts and the like.
