What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Kentucky

Kids spent the weekend with dad, came home yesterday. Last night kiddo was in hysterics saying his life sucked, wasn't worth living, he was a bad kid, he caused the divorce etc. I was a few minutes away from calling his therapist and getting him admitted it was so bad. I was able to calm him down, reassure him and get him in a better state of mind so I did not get him admitted. I did call his therapist to get him in tomorrow.
Then I did what I know I'm not supposed to. I asked other kiddos if anything happened between oldest and dad that would have caused this. I know I shouldn't be doing that but I needed to know so I could help kiddo. Munchkin said that dad told kiddo if he ever laid a hand on his sibling again he would have him thrown in jail. Evidently kiddo was swimming under water and grabbing munchkin's legs, splashing other kiddo too much and pushed monkey into the pool.
Kiddo has a history of ADHD, anxiety and a few other possible Dx. He has been doing incredible since the move, but this weekend I am afraid has set him back in his confidence and well being. I have been encouraging the relationship as much humanly possible, when is it okay to stop pushing the relationship and just focus on whats best for the kiddo?
