how to fix error on credit report?

I obtained my credit report, and disputed an entry on there from a property management company that I never heard of, never received a call, letter, nothing from, that said I owe them $2500. Experian supposedly verified the entry as valid. When I called Experian about it, they said it was verified, I asked them how it was verified, and that I'd like a copy of something that shows my signature, authorization, something showing it is my debt. They said I'd have to take it up with the property management company. I told them its not my job to do that, it's thier job to verify the information and provide me with proof, they said no, I'd have to contact the property management company. I told them I don't even know who they are, and I was told their contact information is on the credit report. Who is right??? Is it my job to dispute the entry??

It your responsibility to dispute with the property management company. What is on your credit report is your responsibility. Call the company and ask for their records. Typically all of the information that you need to contact them is on the report. Name, address and phone number and if not, look it up online.
