Hi,

I was wondering if you know how I could find out who received the proceeds of my deceased father's pension plan?
The company he worked for has been no help at all.
Also, do you have any suggestions on how I may locate any life insurance policies he may have carried? I don't have access to his belongings, so that isn't an option.

Thanks Very Much,

DEAR SPIRUS:

What month and year did your father die, and in what city/state?

What does his company say when you ask him for that pension plan information? Did you also ask them about whether he had any life insurance policies through his place of employment?

Does he have any close surviving relatives such as a wife or other children?

Have you checked at the county courthouse of the city where he died to see what papers are in his probate file regarding his estate (whether he had a last will and testament)? There may be other financial information in the file that could answer some of your questions.

SINCERELY,
