What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?
Michigan
I've always been intrigued about how much of my DUI case is a matter of public record (ie. exactly how much information could an employer, for example, dig up).
Apparently in Michigan a DUI stays on your criminal record for life. I've used the state sponsored database to look up my own DUI and sure enough it's there (anyone w/ $10 and 10 mins can run a search on anyone they want). However, the info in that record is fairly limited (offense, date, district and plea).
However, is there way for a member of the public to get more info about the case; specifically sentencing info such as jail time served, length of probation, community service ordered, fines and fees, counseling ordered, etc...?
